Logo design

Written by Don

As a word game website I’ve always thought that the logo should be constructed from tiles. I’ve been working with some graphic designers and the short list has come down to the following three designs:

Green Glow

Blue Glow

No Glow

Let me know if you have a particular favorite or if there is some way to tweak and improve the design. Of course if you like the existing logo you’re free to express that sentiment as well :-)

    Hi Don,
Congratulations on being the new owner of WWF! I understand why you want to personalize it and make it your own, however the old logo is what most of us like. If you must change it, then the green glow is the only one I personally like. I wish you my personal best and look forward to seeing your innovations emerge on the site!

Prefer the current. Same reason as some of the above … Easier on the eyes.
Yellow on Black is actually a pretty powerful combo.
THen again, I am RG CB (red green colour blind)

So my perception of colour could be vastly different from everyone else.

Green glow but it is hard to read.

  5. Judymitt says:

Keep the current one. Much easier to look at less busy less clutter

Well, This will give you a laugh, (I hope) All three make me dizzy and nauseous. Ouch- LOL
So my vote would be for staying the same or as someone suggested making Words and Friends tile letters on present logo.

Hope everyone is having a good day!!

If only the iPhones had flash!!

If only: the title could be visually changing, morphing, words into tiles, changing images, against a background watermark (title) that becomes stronger, brighter, alive,…… okay, I’m dreaming! :)

    Green glow!

can you do the blue glow but with the green glow’s letters? the blue’s easier on the eyes but i don’t like how the tiles are laying down

I like the green glow, but I think Margaret B.’s suggestion is on the money – make “Words” and “Friends” from tiles and keep the other words regular text. I think it will be easier to read that way. :)

I think there is a fine balance with wanting to have something new and unique, and linking with the original as in this case. I think you should keep the present logo because that makes it clearly identifiable with the game, and then add CLUB or FANS to it. I don’t know if you have copyright issues with the present logo, but do try not to stray too far from it, it’s recognisability is what you want to hook on to! My 2 cents – apologies if it offends!

  13. Alicia says:

Please keep the old logo. It is easier on the eyes and also looks professional.

How much time do I have to work up some designs? I’m a graphic designer and this looks like fun…

I like the top one the best

Current logo looks better than any of the new ones.

    The green glow looks good.

    I like the Green Glow!

  20. Margaret B says:

I don’t really care for any of them- they seem jumbled together and are difficult to read. If I HAD to choose one however, I would go with Green Glow.

Idea: Keep the basic title design but turn “WORDS” and “FIRENDS” into tile letters.

i’d have the designers go back to the drawing board & try a 3 row layout … something that gets you closer to a traditional logo aspect:

    just a thought

  22. BShaw94 says:

I really think the current one is much better than the new options. The new selections seem to me to be like something you might find on a myspace page. The current looks much more professional. You asked for honesty, right?

  23. Marty says:

The existing is a lot more readable and professional looking, but Green Glow with bolder letters, straightend a little and some more space between words. Drop the dot tile for just a dot…. from NZ – go THE Pacific

  24. Harlen says:

    Green glow!

  25. Heidimn says:

    Green Glow

Others are hard on my eyes

  26. Owen says:

Green glow, but I’d like to see what it looks like with other colors.

    Green glow

  28. Ahol1616 (Aaron) says:

I like both the green glow and no glow. Leaning more towards green though.
