I have to agree with you, Scott. Not because of the reasons you cited (which sound valid), but because three of the words on the board (CYTASTERS, UROLITHS and AZOTISE) are not in the dictionary. I find it hard to believe someone who misspells abit (sic) in her dialogue would use words that as far as I can discern are not even part of the English language. I’ve had a score of 570 in a game, my best single is 111; not fantastic, by any means, but the words were all in the dictionary.

when confornted by a cheater i usually begin playing anti-wwf. i play the shortest words possible leading to my cheating opponent having to play some incredible words to have any kind of score. its my favoured way of rooting out a cheater. if you keep a board tight with not much to play off and they can still drop 7 letter words with no definition that you can find, youve found a cheater. i often find that playing that way against them they set me up for the triples, dropping the old QI on a triple against a cheater brings a great sense of acheivement.

i agree with above posts that theres nothing wrong with randomly dropping letters on the board to se if they work, and because the app uses so much battery power on some peoples phones i dont mind keeping notes and building words offline.

I have been accused of cheating merely bc I played 4 Bingo’s in one game. I have had experiences in which I easily and repeatedly beat a player who after several losses, turns it around in a subsequent game, playing exceptional unusually spelled words to score high on repeated turns and beating me. Obviously like others, I smell cheating when miraculously skills levels heighten . Also when a player repeated plays words that have very unusual arrangements of letters, I’m playing someone like this and beat her repeatedly, and has not the verbal skills, during bubble chat, that indicate a Hugh intellect, I’m also made suspicious. I cheat ONLY against this player I know who’s a very suspicious player with little strategy but encyclopedic vocab. And I rarely cheat against her bc I can out-strategy her & win. Finally, until WWF rules or protocols r changed, guessing words IS NOT cheating! Keeping a list of words beside u while u play (as a guy I play does) IS CHEATING! U CAN ONLY CONSULT UR BRAIN!

I am a great scrabble player. I can spot a WWF cheater. it is not so much the words they use as how fast they use them and if they pass up (as they often do) simpler words that get the same points and use the same letters. Or if they just use these really long words that don’t help them strategically (by wasting ‘s’s or other useful letter combinations that a truly good player would hold onto for a turn or two more. The main thing though, is when you go, and right away the build on a word in a complex way and do so quickly. It is fine if they do that, but in 25 seconds you don’t do that. For one, even if you saw it you would take time to look at other possibilities. only software or website tools do that quickly.
